I, Jack Kaminski, studied a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Music and Sound Engineering, as well as a Bachelor of Journalism degree specializing in Film and Television at Rhodes University, Eastern Cape, South Africa.

The combination of specializing in audio recording and film-making has not only improved my skills in production and editing, but has given me confidence in entering the production industry as either an audio engineer, live mixer, filmmaker, producer or editor. Sound, for me, is as important as imagery, and so I believe that one should attempt to master both audio and visual in producing material.
 

With my knowledge in film production and particularly sound engineering, my personal interests lie in audio recording, live music engineering, music production, and film-making.

 

This portfolio includes short films, such as documentaries, journalism, travel films, profiles, and music videos. It also includes the recording, production and mastering of audio tracks of various music bands. Furthermore, it incorporates other journalistic mediums that I have produced, such as the design and writing of a magazine publication, the photography in a photo story, and a talk radio show.

 

In terms of my competencies, I work with the Adobe cs6 Master Collection, mainly Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and Audition. For audio I have experience in Steinberg Cubase 5 and 6, and for film editing I have worked with Avid and Final Cut Pro 7, I can also operate a DSLR or Panasonic P2 camera for filming.
