PROJECT JOZA PHOTOSTORY

This photostory tells the story of three self-producing artists in the Joza Township of Grahamstown, namely Mzwamadoda "Azlan" Makalima, Khanyile "Suffo" Bumgane and Ayanda "Steal" Mcanda. The story focuses on how the producers built up their studios and the reasons why the produce and record music. The story shows how these three producers do not make music and record other artists for financial purposes, as they have other work to help fund the studio. Instead, they help others to record their music as a means of empowering themselves and others, as well as enriching the musical and cultural capital of the Joza community.

BREEZING THROUGH HOGSBACK

This short travel documentary is about Hogsback, a small village in the Amatola Mountains of the Eastern Cape, South Africa. It is known for being a getaway destination, away from city life. With its indigenous forests and pristine waterfalls, the area houses less than 400 residents. Hogsback is believed to be a place of great spirituality, deeply connected to mother nature and with an affinity to fairies and folk tales...
