PRODUCER MAGAZINE

Producer Magazine is aimed at giving the latest news in media production, with specific focus on the music industry. The target market for the magazine is musicians, self-producing artists, independent producers and home studio sound engineers, but also anyone who shares an interest in keeping up do date with what's happening in the music scene of South Africa.

The first edition includes an inside look into the recording practices of self-producing hip hop artists in the Joza Township of Grahamstown. The edition also includes an exclusive interview with renowned ethnomusicologist Andrew Tracey. Furthermore, there is a music video review of one of Grahamstown's up-and-coming bands, Lu-Fuki, and their new single, "Moist".

Future editions will include music festival and concert reviews, the behind-the-scenes of sound and lighting technicians, and latest digital recording technologies for home studio entrepreneurs.

ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE

This edition of Rolling Stone Magazine includes my feature article, titled "The Self (-less) Producer", that tells the story of three self-producing artists in the Joza township of Grahamstown. The purpose of this edition is to show my work in relation to an established publication. I chose Rolling Stone because of its primary focus on the music industry.

BREEZING THROUGH HOGSBACK

This short travel documentary is about Hogsback, a small village in the Amatola Mountains of the Eastern Cape, South Africa. It is known for being a getaway destination, away from city life. With its indigenous forests and pristine waterfalls, the area houses less than 400 residents. Hogsback is believed to be a place of great spirituality, deeply connected to mother nature and with an affinity to fairies and folk tales...
