CAMERON CORDELL - "ROMANZA IN C SHARP MAJOR" (HD)
Cameron Cordell was a music student at Rhodes University. Majoring in Piano, he composed one of his own tracks, Romanza in C Sharp Major. As the song was inspired by a relationship that he was in, the music video attempted to portray a dramatic and lonely feel of a pianist expressing his emotions through playing the piano. The focus of the video was thus on the piano and pianist, as a means of allowing the viewer to experience what Cameron is feeling. In order to time the piece to the movement of the hands, it was necessary for us to do a live recording of the track a few times from different angles. But the use of two condenser microphones placed under the flap of the piano allowed for the entire frequency range to be picked up clearly. Although the sound could have still been improved, it successfully holds the piece and the music video together. Romanza in C Sharp Major was a challenge in itself to depict the necessary emotions above the technical skill that needed to go in to it.
